He didn’t pull out the suicide threat until the very end when the rest of his tactics weren’t working. He threatened to step in front of a train, as this happens often where I live. (The one regret I have is that I didn’t call it in.) Spoiler: He never did it, he’s still alive, and his threat didn’t keep me there.

I just read your article about emotional blackmail that you had written in 2014. You are right on target with your advice. My late husband and I had been married for 20 years. I married him when I was 17 and he was 18. We had five beautiful children together.
